The Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden – premises for rent

The Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden and its glasshouses, situated close to the center of Helsinki (Unioninkatu 44 / Kaisaniemenranta 2), offer unique experiences for nature lovers throughout the year.

Contact details

For enquiries and facility rentals please contact us per e-mail tilat@luomus.fi
In your message, please let us know the following details:

Premises for rent

The unique environment in the greenhouses is suited for e.g. holding exotic cocktail parties and wedding ceremonies. The greenhouses can mainly be reserved for private occasions outside opening hours. Mainly, all occasions must end by 10pm so that the garden attendant can carry out the closing of the premises.

The Palm House, the biggest of the glasshouses and with a warm and tropical climate, is an excellent venue for various events. The Palm House can hold approximately 70 persons. However, all 10 glasshouses can be rented together for bigger occasions. The glasshouses are joined together by doors and corridors. Buffet catering can be arranged to the adjacent Savannah and Rainforest Rooms. Palm House, Savannah Room and Rainforest Room can only be booked together. Unfortunately, the narrow corridors prevent the use of seats in the glasshouses.

The person responsible for renting the premises is also responsible for arrangements related to the occasion. These include decorations, catering, food, presentation equipment, extra furniture, assembly and disassembly, auxiliary personnel and so on. The garden does not offer the planning and preparation of the occasions (i.e. catering). When holding and preparing for the occasion, the exceptional premises (in Finnish) and operation of the garden must be taken into consideration.

Catering for the occasion can be inquired from Café Viola, which also operates as a restaurant in summertime (May–August). It is also possible to book paid guides for the occasions. The entrance fee is included in the rent price.

Meetings and other occasions can be arranged in the Linkola and Elfving rooms of the Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden during opening hours. These rooms are situated right above the cashier on the second floor. There is no elevator. The rooms are equipped with a data projector, an overhead projector and a flipchart and. We recommend bringing your own laptop for presentations. For security reasons the Internet connection works only on computers registered to the University of Helsinki. The need for the data projector should be mentioned while making the reservation.
