Botany and mycology – Botanic Garden and Herbarium (H)The Botanical Museum does not have exhibitions open to public. Plants are presented in the Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden, next to the museum. Botanic Garden and Herbarium is part of the Finnish Museum of Natural History, which is a national natural-history collection. The collections contain more than 3.1 million herbarium specimens of plants and fungi which make up the national herbarium of Finland. The Botanic Garden and Herbarium’s work is based on its scientific plant collection in which the plant accessions are of known origin and thoroughly documented to serve research, teaching and education as well as possible. |
