The vertebrate specimen collections in the museum are taken care of by the Metazoa Team, which is also in charge of all invertebrates apart from insects.

Monitoring

A major part of vertebrate research is associated with long-term monitoring projects, particularly of the bird fauna, and is carried out by the Monitoring Team. This team is also in charge of the bird ringing activities in Finland.
