Atriplex sp. (Finland, Helsinki, Lauttasaari, 1995). – Image: Harri Harmaja (scanned from dried specimen). – This plant grew on gravelly seashore with e.g. Juncus ranarius, Ranunculus baudotii (on shore!) and Eleocharis parvula (in shallow water). The genus Atriplex L. (Chenopodiaceae) is taxonomically very difficult. The plant illustrated may represent the very infrequent hybrid A. littoralis × patula.
