Notes on Carex globularis

Carex globularis L. (Cyperaceae), typical (two culms on the left) and a deviating morph (on the right) (Finland, Lammi, Ylänne, 1993). Image: Harri Harmaja (scanned from dried specimens). The differences are obvious in the image. The perigynia were immature and could not be compared. The plants of each kind were growing in the same site, in somewhat different stands. The morph on the right hand side is very infrequent; I have only observed it once elsewhere.
