A new stand of the critically endangered Hypericum montanum L. (Hypericaceae) was found by me on July 19, 1990 in Lohja (SW Finland). The stand lies in Jantoniemi, not far from the nearest previously known ones. The occurrences of Lohja are the only ones of this southern species in Finland. H. montanum is regarded as critically endangered in the 2000 Red List of Finnish species. The plants grew in shelves of eutrophic rock by the lake Lohjanjärvi. Interesting accompanying species include: Asplenium ´alternifolium (A. septentrionale ´ trichomanes), Asplenium septentrionale, A. trichomanes, Luzula cf. divulgata, Satureja acinos, Silene nutans, S. rupestris, Thymus serpyllum (typical and less typical), Verbascum thapsus, and Viola rupestris ssp. rupestris.
