Lonicera caprifolium L. (Caprifoliaceae) (Finland, Lohja, Jalassaari, 2004). – Photo: Harri Harmaja. – I have found this climbing honeysuckle species, cultivated as ornamental, as naturalized in two Finnish localities: 1) Lohja, Jalassaari (first observation was made some time in the 1950's; now several vigorous near-by stands exist) and 2) Karjaa, Mustio (1983). Moreover, I twice collected a naturalized sterile plant which possibly represents L. caprifolium: 3) Lohja, Kiviniemi (1984) and 4) Lohja, Ojamo (1984). The species apparently only infrequently escapes from cultivation in Finland as the current literature hardly mentions such occurrences.
