Fig. 1. Lysimachia thyrsiflora L., morph 1 (Finland, Lammi, Evo, 1990). – Image: Harri Harmaja (scanned from dried specimen). – L. thyrsiflora (Primulaceae) displays variability in leaf width and, to a lesser degree, in the amount of the hairiness of the leaves and stem. It is unknown whether any taxonomic relevance is concerned. Anyway, plants with medium broad or narrow, somewhat yellowish green leaves (as in Fig. 1) are common in half-open more or less peaty shores of more or less oligotrophic forest lakes.

Fig. 2. Lysimachia thyrsiflora, morph 2 (Finland, Lohja, Jalassaari, 1990). – Image: Harri Harmaja (scanned from dried specimen). – Tall plants of this kind with broad, dark green leaves can be found, for instance, in rich vegetation on moist or wet but not truly paludified ground on shores of more or less eutrophic lakes.
