Notes on Potentilla decora

Potentilla decora Markl. (Finland, Espoo, Muurala, 2004). Image: Harri Harmaja (scanned from dried specimen). This rather poorly known taxon is an apomictic species of the aggregate of P. argentea L. (Rosaceae). The habitat was on roadside at the margin of a field. So here, at least, the plant is not indigenous; it is apparently somewhat unclear whether the species is indigenous anywhere in Finland. The species has a pronouncedly southern coastal distribution in Finland. It has mainly been found in the hemiboreal zone; recent collections are scanty in H.
