This kind of plants are not infrequent, stands sometimes growing side by side with stands of typical plants with more or less elliptic leaf blade. My occasional observations sometimes suggested that the capsule size and shoot structure might also vary somewhat in the species. The variability in the leaf blade in P. minor may nevertheless lack essential taxonomic relevance.
