Rorippa sylvestris (L.) Bess., morph (Finland, Lohja, Paksalo, 1989). – Image: Harri Harmaja (scanned from dried specimen). – The stand, from which plants are depicted above, is noteworthy as (i) the leaflets of the leaves are broad, (ii) the terminal leaflet of the is distinctly larger (not only broader) than the lateral ones, and (iii) the habitat is fairly natural (bushy shore of the lake Hiidenvesi). R. sylvestris (Brassicaceae) is an introduced species in Finland. The leaflets are usually narrower than in the present plant, the terminal one being rather similar to the lateral ones (anyway, not much broader than the latter), and the species occurs in more or less disturbed habitats. Interestingly, in northern Europe the siliquae of the species are sometimes normal but commonly remain undeveloped as here.
